Worth Ashley Parker, age 73 of 2309 Brookwood Trail, Sanford, NC died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.

Worth was born on July 3, 1938 in Cumberland County, NC to the late Lawrence Brown Parker and Lena Pearce Parker. He was in the heating and air conditioning business for 55 years being previously employed with King Roofing, Heating & Air of Sanford for 20 years and 35 years as owner of Worth Parker Heating and Air of 1015 Hawkins Ave. in Sanford. He and his wife also enjoyed a home at Seaside Plantation in North Myrtle Beach, SC where they both enjoyed spending time together along the ocean shore.

He is survived by his wife Joann Williams Parker of Sanford, NC; a daughter, Cynthia Parker Phipps and husband David Lamar Phipps of Sanford; two grandchildren: Farrah Phipps Patterson and husband Brent Patterson of Broadway, NC and David Parker Phipps of Sanford, NC; one sister, Gayle Parker Holder and husband Gene Laviner of Mamers, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Brown Parker and Frank Virgil Parker.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford with Rev. Steve Rosser officiating.

The family will receive friends at their home at 2309 Brookwood Trail, Sanford on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.
